• Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed in Rajya Sabha that the Standing Committee on Railways has recommended restoring fare concessions for senior citizens, specifically in Sleeper and 3AC classes.
• These concessions (40% for men aged 60+, 50% for women aged 58+) were discontinued in March 2020 due to COVID-19.
